Surname: Myers, Wise

Sue:
What Cooks are you looking for? Were they from Daviess Co, IN also?
My grandmother was Daisy Marie Cook, her father was Thomas Alvin Cook,
his father was Wm.
Cook I believe. I can look at my resources on the Cooks. Then I am
familiar with another person who is also researching the same line of
Cooks.
Our Cooks, Daviess Co., were supreme Carpenters in Daviess Co. They
built several of the bigger homes here......Grampa Tom worked for B&O
railroad, and was also the Constable of
Maysville, Daviess Co.,
If you need help with the Cook surname, I'll try to help. Maybe we
could help each other, even
tho this isn't the line I'm working on right now, but I believe I
probably have quite a bit of info for
you, if this is same line.

To all my cousins that I hoped to see at the reunion:
We had to cancel today, as my soulmate became gravely ill. He is on oxygen
right now. We are both so disappointed. If anyone there is looking for
Danny O'Dea and his line of Culvers, Jordans, Meyers or Wathans, please let
them know. For my fellow researchers of : Clements, Cook, Greenwells,
Kidwells, Hansons, O'Briens, Queens, Vaughans, Weekley or Whites, just know
that I am there with you all in spirit and feeling very sad right now. Sue

No record that I've found so far lists Matilda Rose. However, I have a
record of her first marriage to my paternal grandfather, Joseph V.
Allegree, 6/28/1903 DAVIESS CO, IN, by Rev. Wm. P. Garrity, and I have a
copy of the marriage application and marriage record for her second
marriage to Charles Daniel Crooks. In it, Matilda lists her birthdate
as 7/11/1883 WASHINGTON, DAVIESS CO, IN. Her previous marriage,
presumably to Joseph V. Allegree, ended in divorce on 12/11/1907. She
lists her father as Alexander Mattingly, b. in KY, occupation: teamster,
and that he is dead. She lists her mother as Laura Ann Summers, b. in
DAVIESS CO, IN, occupation: housekeeper, and that she is dead.
Matilda's marriage to Charles Daniel Crooks (b. 7/4/1881 NORBIN, MO, son
of Francis Crooks and Margaret Crabb, both b. in IN.) took place on
12/20/1907 by J.W. Kellams, J.P.
Matilda and Joseph Allegree had at least one son, my father, Robert J.
Allegree b. 8/20/1904 d. 10/17/1973.
I don't know if Matilda and Charles Crooks had any children.
Would appreciate any further info.

Surname: Farrell
-------------------------
Does anyone know if Naturalization paperwork is available for Daviess Co.
for the timeframe of 1852. If so, what would be the best way of obtaining
copies of the paperwork, ie. who to contact and if it can be done by mail
or if it has to be in person. I am looking for paperwork on James Farrell
and his family. I do not live in Indiana but am planning a trip at the
end of August. Thanks.

Surname: Jackson
-------------------------
Daniel Jackson of Hudsonville, Daviess County, IN was born in New York
March 4, 1788. He migrated to Champaign County, Ohio, married Alice (Espa)
Colbert on May 21, 1812, fought in the War of 1812, then migrated to Kentucky
for a shor time and went on to Harrison Township, Daviess Co. IN. Daniel
and Alice had six children; Ulysses E, Julian, John, David, Milton and
Rosalie. Daniel supposedly named Hudsonville that he platted after his
home town. This is thought to be Hudson, NY. Orel Chapman said that Daniel's
father was Archibald Sylvester Jackson. There is an Archibald that lived
in Hudson, NY but there is no record of him having any children. I cannot
locate a record of Daniel's birth. Are there any descendents of Daniel
that can give me a clue as to his place of birth?

Surname: STONE, WRATTAN, WRATTEN
-------------------------
P. E. Thompsen asked: "Wanting to know how they were related and how Bud
Stone related to the Elias and Henry Stone families of Daviess Co."
I do not know the relationship between the STONE and WRATTAN/WRATTEN families.
However, for the relationship of Bud STONE to Elias and Henry, with sources
cited, the link below will take you to the Bud STONE page.
For his ancestry as I have it, click on "pedigree" at the bottom of the
his page.
The murder's mother and father were first cousins, tsk, tsk.

Surname: Stewart, Scales, Pope, Shoop, Burris

I have a General Affidavit signed by a John Horrell, He was apparently
good friends with my g-g grandfather James P. Stewart. James P. Stewart
lived in Daviess County, Indiana. If interested email me at bdcarnes(a)dstream.net
I am seeking any information on Ralph BARNES, b.~1800
in Lancashire England.
I believe that Ralph married Mary Ann Vandyke CREGAR/CREAGER
on 20 Sep 1868. Would marriage records be available for
copy for that time period in Daviess Co?
Daviess County, IN WPA Births (1882-1920)
Mary A. to Albert Barnes, Sep 20, 1868 Book 3 Page 20
This would be Mary's second marriage. She married first
John CREGAR in Hamilton Co., OH in 1835 and they had
9 children, 2 of which were still living with her after
she had married Ralph (see below). John CREGAR died in
Daviess Co., IN in 1859, probably shortly after moving
the family from Israel Twp, Preble Co., OH.

There used to be families here by the name of Bixler in Daviess Co.,
IN. There is still a Bixler Rd.
This is about all I know, but could give you a descent lead.
Good Luck,
Melanie

Surname: Bixler
-------------------------
The Bible I have lists Simean and Elvira Jane Bixler, whom I assume to
be from Daviess County, IN. He was born 1818 and she in 1828. They were
married 10 August 1848. There is no Sarah in their list of children. Perhaps
Sarah was the niece of Simean. This is the only family listed in the Bible.
