This is information I have on John P Lee of Clinton Co, IN:
John's obit of 1/12/1887 from the Frankfort Banner reads: Monday morning Thomas and
W.F. Lee received a telegram from Indianapolis informing them of the death of their
brother John Lee, who had died there very suddenly last Sunday. He had been an inmate of
the aslymn for the past two years. The remains were forwarded from that city to this
place Monday and interred to the South Cemetary yesterday.
John's obit of 1/12/1887 from the Crescent reads: Monday morning the relations of
John Lee received the sad news of his death at the Hospital for the Insane at
Indianapolis, Jan 9th. Mr. Lee was a citizen of Clinton, and a prominent member of the
Presbyterian church. The deceased was born in Cumberland County, Penn., in the year 1816,
and came to Clinton County some time during the year 1837. He united with the
Presbyterian church about 1842 or 1843 then under the pastorage of Rev. Samuel Taylor.
Upon learning that John went to the Indiana Hospital for the Insane, I went to the State
Archives. If you want to see a copy of his admission form, I can send it to you. This is
what I found:
