JOHN W. CLARK, Onetime Resident of Clinton County, Dies in Missouri
Relatives here have been advised that John W. Clark, 88, a former resident of Clinton
county, died January 25 at the home of a son, James R. Clark, near Competition, Laclede
county, Missouri.
In an obituary notice a Lebanon, MO., newspaper says: John Warren Clark a son of Robert
and Mary Clark, was born near Bloomington, Monroe county, Indiana, on Aug. 17, 1864. He
was the youngest of a family of five children.
In 1896 he moved with his family to Lacleded county, where they resided on a farm near
Brownfild. He later moved to a farm on the Gasconade river near Competition, where he
resided for 43 years.
Mr. Clark's wife, Mary Lampkins Clark and two sons, Dr. Grover C. Clark and Charles T.
Clark, preceded him in death.
Survivors include four sons, James R. Clark, Competition; Claude B. Clark, Lebanon; Martin
E. Clark, Niobrara, Nebr., and John R. Clark of Gardena, Calif., two daughters, Mrs.
Margaret Fulks, Lynchbury and Mrs. Ida Pelle Hough of Oakland. He also leaves 13
grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
This is not my line of research but in searching for 'Clarks' happen to have this
one.
It is also being sent to the Clinton County, Indiana usgenweb board to be posted to the
