Hi Darlene and fellow list members,
I just joined the list, so I thought I'd jump in with both feet.
At 11:16 AM 6/12/98 -0700, you wrote:
I was wondering if there is anyone on the list that is affliated with
the
library in Frankfort, the CC Historical Society or the CC Genealogical
Society? I want to verify information that I have posted on the Clinton
County
website.
They still have e-mail, don't they? I know I have written to the Frankfort
Community Public Library in the past. In fact, I met one of my cousins,
Francis Lipp, that way! Helen Grove mentioned him to me. Her address at
the library is <fcpl(a)accs.net>, or was in 1997 anyway.
AND......I am in the process of revamping the CC website. I am looking
for
ideas from YOU. What kinds of information do you think would benefit the
people researching their family history in CC? Do you want more in the way of
records, i.e. marriage, deed and so on. Or, do you want family group type
information. Or, do you want information about the history of how CC was
formed....the early formation years of CC information.
I can speak only for myself. I am interested primarily in biographies,
cemetery records, marriage records, some history of the county's formation
and about some of its cities. If anyone is willing to do look-ups, I'd
like to know that, too!
Another biggy is information on local gen. societies and their current
publications lists.
I am in the process of typing the WPA Death Records for CC. I have the
"A's"
almost completed. I don't want to go down through A, B, C and so on.......SO
what letter would you like to see posted on the web? Now, don't everybody
answer this question at once <VBG>!
D! I am a Douglass family researcher. Closely followed by S (Smiley), B
(Byers), I can go on and on here...
Any ideas you want to throw around and discuss is alright by me.
I'm usually
open to any suggestions.
Some county pages have links to the personal pages of people who have
connections to that county (usually ancestors).
AND, if you would like to volunteer in transcribing material, or
sending in
your family group sheets or information for your surnames I'd be glad to post
the information on the website. I am gathering material to post on the web
for
Clinton County. I can't do it all by myself. I need your help!!
I have already committed myself for transcribing some data for the Butler
Co. Ohio site (my Douglasses came from there to Indiana). When that's
done, I'll be happy to help you.
Best regards,
Mary Ann Hanson maise(a)continet.com
