My Cox family starts (so far I have found) Susan Cox-Stringer-Harter. SUSAN
COX was the daughter of GEORGE and HANNAH (KIMBLE) COX.( my
g-g-grandparents ) George and Hannah were from Fayette Co. Ohio. George and
Hannah were married in Ohio in 1851. By the account in George's obit they
moved to Clinton County in 1852. George died in 1905( living in the area of
Beard most of his life, he was a farmer) No listing of parents or siblings
in his obit. I have found a headstone in Hopewell Cemetery Clinton County,
of a George W. Cox son of G.W. & H.M Cox died in 1878 at the age of 11
months. In his obit it lists he is survived by two sons and three
daughters. One son John resides about a mile from his fathers home. And Mrs.
Mansford Harter (Susan) living close to him.
Susan first married a James Stringer in Clinton County in 1875- James died
at the age of 35 in 1876. Susan then married Mansford Harter in 1878 in
Clinton County. SUSAN AND MANSFORD are my g-grandparents.
Susan & Mansford children:
William Harter
Elizabeth Harter
Hattie Harter-Painter-Traver
Osa Belle Harter-Earlywine
Manda (Maggie) Harter- Goff
Linda Harter-Kimble-Vice-Skinner (Linda and Sam Skinner my grandparents)

Penny who was your COX? I have a Hannah Scott married to ? Cox, in
her
father's will she was listed as Hannah Cox, I have no other information on
this family. Her father wrote his will in 1860. My Philip Scott also
married Kissiah Earlywine after his wife died in 1859, at the time living
in
Henry County, Iowa. Did your Earlywines move to Henry County??
