Searching for information on Matthew R. George who was 68 years old when in
died in Frankfort, IN June 17, 1917. He was married to Malinda Kernodle in
early womanhood. Malinda was born in Boone Co., IN to George and Sarah
Kernodle on February 11, 1847. Malinda died May 21, 1926.
Survivors when Matthew died are: daughter Mrs. Pearl Caldwell and wife.
Survivors when Malinda died: one brother Henry Kernodle of Salem, IN; and by
three grandchildren: Mrs. Sarah Pearcy of Frankfort; Richard George of
Kokomo, IN and William Petitt of Frankfort.
The obit of William Petitt states that he married Emma George in 1886 and
when he died in May 1938 had moved to Frankfort 50 years prior which would
have been about 1888. Mr. Petitt obit states that daughter, Mrs. Sarah
Pearcy preceeded him in death.
The obit of Mrs. Albert Pearcy who died December 11, 1937 indicates that she
was the daughter of William and Pearle George Petitt. Her survivors:
husband, three daughters, Mrs. Bettie Fisher, Delores and Barbara Pearcy;
two sons Jack and James; brother William Petitt, Jr. and her father, William
Petitt, Sr. and a half brother Richard George of Miami, Florida.
Is anyone researching this George and Kernodle family? Who is Emma Georges'
parents? Any information on Richard George?
Thank you. Mary K. George
