In an old photo album that belonged to my
grandfather's older sister there was a photo that
showed a little boy holding my grandfather when he was
a baby. The caption said "Charles Sellers holding his
namesake"
Do you happen to know of any Charles Sellers? The
photo was taken in 1925 and Charles Sellers looked
like he was probably around 10 years old.

My mother was a Clinton County SELLERS.
I have already posted my main interests which are:
SELLERS; SANDERS; MOORE; GRIFFIN; CRANDALL; and
SHERRITT (Var. Sp.)
The immigrant for the SELLERS family was Heinrich
ZELLER also known as Henry SELLERS.
Records for this early family can be found at:
"Peaked Mountain Church Records" (Augusta, later
Rockingham County,
Virginia) online at:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~troutt/~troutt/Miscellaneous/Pea...
My SELLERS family were in Virginia in the 1700s and
moved to Warren County,
Ohio in the early 1800s; then to Indiana in Parke,
Carroll and Clinton
Counties in the mid-1800s.
Over the years there are marriage connections with
names I have seen posted
to this list:
PITSENBERGER; SHAFFER; SIMS; HOLCROFT; FRY;
ARMENTROUT; HARSHMAN and PENCE.
I have some information for these families. Some of
the above names (with
varied spellings) are also in the Peaked Mountain
Church Records.
I have found the Clinton County, Indiana GenWeb Site
very helpful. They
have a long list of transcribed biographies from the
History of Clinton
County, published 1913.
I might note that when clicking on some names you
will get a "Page Not
Found" result. This is apparently just a link
problem and the work-around
is to click on a name previous to the one you want,
then scroll up or down
at that page for the name you seek.
The GenWeb site is at:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~inclinto/
Information is available at the Frankfort Community
Public Library online
at:
http://www.accs.net/fcpl/
The "Search Obit Records" is a listing of
microfilmed obituaries. Obituaries
found can be copied for a small fee.
The "Search the Clinton County Archive Project"
provides an index search of
(primarily) court records (civil, criminal, probate,
etc.) for individual
surnames. Copies of records found can be ordered by
mail.
The "Genealogy and Local History Department" lists
available records and
other information.
The "Indiana State Library Genealogy Database:
Marriages through 1850" is
useful and is at:
http://199.8.200.229/db/marriages_search.asp
Hope this helps in your Clinton County research.
