I have no proof of Tressia being the sister of my John W. King, but they did live next to
each other on the 1860 census. William Dotson King and Nancy Turner were John's
parents. I've verified the following children of William and Nancy: John W., Joseph,
Mary Ellen, Martha, America, Lewis, Nancy and Elizabeth. The kids were born in Bracken
County, KY. William and Nancy married May 10, 1823 in Bracken County. William and Nancy
are listed on the 1850 Bracken Co. census (twice-once as William D. the other Dotson
King). William B. King is listed on 1860 Clinton County census (same younger children as
listed on 1850 census.) His wife Nancy appears to be deceased at this time. The above
noted children married in Clinton Co. with the exception of America (who married Willis
Wood in Bracken Co.) and Martha who appears to have died between 1850 and 1860. The
Levisa Blackburn King who married William Dotson was first married to John W. King. She
is the daughter of Salena "S!
ally" King (William Dotson King's sister) and Alanson Blackburn. Alanson
Blackburn is listed on the 1860 Clinton Co. census (on Ancestry search it's listed as
Hanson Blackburn). I have more...Could you tell me how you know that Tressia and John W.
King are siblings?
