Seeking information on parents, sibliings or other family members of Jane
Thornburgh who lived in Clinton County, Indiana, from approximately 1838 to 1854.
This is from her obit in the Panora (Iowa) Vedette in 1903:
"Jane F. Thornburg was born in Juniata County, Pennsylvania, October
29, 1825 and her death occurred May 2, 1903.
In the fall of 1838, her parents left their Pennsylvania home and
moved to Clinton county, Indiana. Here she grew to womanhood, and here,
on the 8th day of October 1851, she was united in marriage to Mr. Robert
Wasson...
... In the fall of 1854, the family moved to Iowa and settled on a farm
near Panora."
If anyone has information about Methodist churches in Clinton County during
that era, it might be helpful, as this was also in the obit:
"On the 8th of October 1841, just ten years before her marriage, and while
she was yet a girl of 17 years of age, she was converted and united with the
Methodist
Episcopal church in Clinton county Indiana"
Previous research indicates that Robert and Jane Thornburgh Wasson were in
Kilmore in Owen Township before moving to Iowa in 1854.
Any information pertaining to Thornburghs (or Thornburgs) in Clinton County
(or possibly adjacent counties) would be greatly appreciated.
