John LOUKS moved from Chatauqua Co. New York in 1837 to Decatur Co.,
IN. In 1838 he moved to Sugar Creek Twp., Clinton Co., IN. His son,
James Franklin LOUKS marriage to Eliza ALEXANDER in Sep. of 1841 was
the first recorded in Sugar Creek Twp. Eliza's family had moved here
from Pulaski Co., KY.
William Henry KINGSOLVER moved from VA to IN and was married in Clinton
Co. in Feb of 1861 to Mary Jane WHITTAKER. Mary Jane's family came to
Clinton Co.,IN from Clinton Co., OH in early 1837.
The DIMMITT's and KEEFER's came to Clinton Co., after 1909 from Carroll
and Wabash counties in IN. Their ancestors came from TN and PA to IN.
The ANDERSON's came from KY as did the STEPP's. The BURGESS' and RICH's
came from NC. The FRAZIER's came from Clinton Co., OH.
In the "History of Clinton County" from 1888 James Franklin LOUKS says
that his grand parents were born and married in Germany. In reality
they were born and married in German Flats Twp., Herkimer Co., NY.
James' GGGrandfather, Henrich LAUX came from the Palintate region of
Germany in the 1709/10 migration to NY.
The KINGSOLVER's have now been traced back to John GONALVES from Spain.
He was born abt 1634.
