I got a message from a gentleman who photographs
graves in the American Cemetery in the Philippines.
The men buried or memorialized there are American
soldiers who lost their lives in the Pacific during
WWII. He has found seven Clinton County soldiers:
John W. Bennett
Wilbur Edward Cuppy
Clark Everett Frazier
John C. Grice
James B. Heise
Robert M. Mann
Robert W. Norris
George G. Taylor
He is searching in particular for relatives of Robert
M. Mann, who is thought to have come from the Mulberry
area (though he has connections to Dayton in
Tippecanoe County also).
Please contact him if you have any connection to these
servicemen or pass the message along if you know
someone who has or might have a connection.
Thanks!
Lena

WWII - Maybe from Mulberry

Hi Lena,
I am Dave Dwiggins from San Pablo City, Philippines.
I am a native of near Alexandria, Indiana and have
been
working on a research project here for several years
in the Philippines, finding Indiana families of
World
War II servicemen, killed and honored here in burial
at Manila American Cemetery. We send them free
photos of the men's graves.
We have been working with Susan Y. Clawson of
Dayton,
Indiana trying to locate the family members of the
Robert M. Mann family. He was from the Lafayette
area and perhaps Mulberry in Clinton County.
Secondly, I must say, we will share any photos or
information we have regarding the men of your area.
I
have attached our personal file regarding Robert M.
Mann and the list of Clinton County servicemen that
are buried at the memorial or their names are
honored
on the Tablets of the Missing. Please help us if you
can. A little bit of joy can sure help turn back 60
plus years of agony for some family members still
living.
Dave
