Purnell Oscar Chance, 89, retired farmer, died Monday at the Home of his daughter, Mrs.
Mattie Battles, at England, following an illness of four years. Mr. Chance was a Native of
Enola. He was the son of the late John J. and Ellen Chance. Mr. was a member of the Church
of Christ at Enola.
Also surviving are five other daughters, Mrs. Matilda Pate and Mrs. Nellie Pate of Conway,
Mrs. Alsona Kennedy of San Diego. Calif., Mrs. Louvenia Rooney of Guy and Mrs. Betty
Ratcliff of Little Rock, 47 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 34
great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ at Enola. Burial
will be at Brown Cemetery at Barney by Pence's Funeral Home.
