Geri,
I'm sorry; my last message got away from me. I recently had a stroke and I'm
retraining my hand to do what I want it to.
Lewis' obituary (he died 14 Dec 1939) says: "He leaves to mourn their loss
his wife, one daughter Mrs. Lillie Day of Bainbridge, one son Roy of
Greencastle, three grandchildren, four sisters Anna, Lucy and Allie Ikamire
and Mrs. Catherine Duree all of Greencastle and other relatives and
friends."
Lucinda's obituary (she died 13 Jan 1940) states: "She came to Greencastle
with her sisters to reside in 1915 but had many friends here before that
time, being known, even then as an expert needlewoman."
There were 10 children in Riley & Mary's family - eight girls and two boys.
The youngest son, William John David Ikamire died c 1880 the result of
typhoid. Lewis also fell ill and his brother's body was held for several
days as they did not think Lewis to live and were expecting to have a double
funeral.
Well, it took me a while but I finally found Riley & Mary in the 1900
census. They're in Warren Twp. 72-77. The youngest in the household is
Allie S. Ikamire, b Feb 1871, 29 years of age, single. Maybe that will help
establish her proper age.
In the 1910 census Allena S. is listed as the youngest in the household,
age, 38, single.
Thanks for making the corrections but I think you can safely say that John
Albert Bolton married Susan Allena Ikamire and that she went by the name
Allie.
Thanks,
Sharon

Subject: Re: [INCLAY] Bolton family corrections to update
Sharon, I must apologize and will make the corrections as you have
suggested in your response below. Here is how I arrived at the info.
The birth date, 6 March 1894 and parents, Louis Ikamire and Etta
Mullinix, I attributed to Susan Allene Ikamire belongs only to a female
born to Louis Ikamire and Etta Mullinix. There was no name listed with
this birth. So this must refer to Lillian/Lilly and noted below in her
marriage record.
But the marriage info I have comes from Putnam County, Indiana, Index
to Marriage Records 1850-1920 book 16, pg. 323. I found this record on
ancestry and it says John Albert Bolton, born 11 March, age 42, was
married 5 November 1917 to Susan A. Ikamire.
Same book and page but a different listing on ancestry says Susan
Allene Ikamire born 5 February, age 27, married John A. Bolton on 5
November 1918 in Putnam County. So if she was born in 1871, as you say,
a little fibbing on age would seem possible and would be closer to 44
in 1920 which is what the 1920 census says.
The 1920 census index says John's wife's name was Allie but after
relooking at the census the name is very faint and could be something
else. But her age of 27 in the 1918 marriage record doesn't equate to
44 which is what is listed in this census.
All of this is very confusing so I am taking out the info on John's
wife and leaving in just the 1920 census with a guess about who his
wife was.
In reference to Lilly, there is also a listing on ancestry that says,
Lillian Ikamire married Frank Day 29 October 1913 in Putnam County. Her
birthday is 6 March and age 19. It is recorded in Book 14, pg. 533.
Thanks for offering these corrections. Geri de Moss
