Mathis's store I remember my sibilings talking about but there is a big
difference in ages between my oldest sister and myself. I think they said
it was where Chaney's deli is now. in Harmony.

I also had relatives, the Mathis family, from Brazil and Harmony. My
great
uncle Met Mathis owned several grocery stores in both Brazil and Harmony
which he and his sons ran. I believe this would have been in the 1930s -
1960s. As a child I would go with my parents in the summer from Michigan to
Indiana to visit and it seemed we would always go into the Eagles which had
very cold air conditioning even in the 50s.

and narrow and the glass showcase was on the right side as you enter.
I am
70 now and all the Brazil relatives are gone, the Turner's, Rardin's,
Rector's and Pittenger's. Sure would love to know if Fashion was the name
of
the store.
