We have not found a marriage in either Indiana or Kentucky for Thomas and Ruth Vest. We
did find a marriage in Barren Co., KY for a Thomas Vest, and a Betsy Alexander, 15 March
1820. (RootsWeb's WorldConnect Project: "Vest Family" by Ronald Vest, gives
Ruths maiden name as Ruth Wheeler, daughter of John Wheeler, born about 1812 in Indiana.
We do not know his source).
Caleb Vest, age 77, would have been 18 years of age when Thomas Vest was born; it is
possible that Thomas Vest is his son. Thomas Vest, age 59, would have been born about
1791; he may have married twice and had two families. Margaret Chaney Vest may have been
born, 1823, of his first family, after he removed from Kentucky to Indiana, or she may
also be a child of Caleb's, who also quite possibly could have married more than once.
Letta Vest could have been a daughter or a lady he married after his wife had died??
Children of Margaret Chaney "Chana" Vest and Lewis Washington "Wash"
