It turns out that the lady I'm researching these Pucketts for is a very distant
relative, as the Pucketts she is descended from are descended from my Womacks back in
Virginia. I am related to another Puckett family, also descended from John Puckett and Ann
Jeffries, from Prince Edward County, Virginia. My 5th Great Grandfather Thomas Rice's
sister, Elizabeth Rice, married Robert Puckett in Charlotte County, Va around 1760. Nearly
all the Pucketts in the U.S. are descended from John Puckett 1st and wife Ann Jeffries,
from Henrico County, VA in the 1600's.

Hello Kathy,
I lived in the same neighborhood as Floyd Pucket in 1939! IF it wasn't
Floyd, it was a Pucket family for sure! My Mother would have given us some
clues about the family and I'm not sure that I'm not related in some way! Why
else would I remember the name?? I am 78 years old now! My husband and I
left Vigo County in 1951, and although we still own a home there, we have
never lived around there for more than about 3 months in 1995/96.
I would like to return to the time when I could type the name Pucket for
Vigo or Clay County and get the whole group, related or not! I am very please
Ancestry is out there, but Boy! Do I wish some of the old Free sites were
still functioning. Either that, or I could still drive down to the NASE in
Atlanta and do my own search! When I first started working out there in
1974, they had only 1850 Indexes! So we have come along way, or at least I
have.

Hi Mary,
I tried to attribute them to the wrong parents, too. Think of the errors
there must be out there. If it had been less suspecious, as you say, I
would have accepted it as it appeared. Yes, Ancestry is an ongoing
source
of frustration at times :o).

I am so happy you cleared up the matter of Floyd and his family in the
1930
census at
Ancestry.com! I found the wrong parents for the family! I
know
I
have enough experience to do this kind of search, but it just didn't
add
up! Working with the census at Ancestry is just not easy these
days!
