I am presently in Georgia, so I don't have access to the records at the
library. Maybe one of the other volunteers will answer this question.
I don't have the answer. I found the enclosed Bio on the Internet. I
am interested in the Orman family, so I try to copy everything I can find
that pertains to them. Owen County was formed in 1818 and Clay in 1825,
and your ancestor must have been in those counties between a fixed time
to qualify. The Orman families arrived in Clay County about 1833! My
Orman family comes down thru Andrew Orman, (1808-1879) an uncle of
Elijah.
Check Indiana, and you send an e-mail to the library in Center Point at
ccgslib@ticz to see what is necessary for a Clay County Pioneer
certificate. There is a volunteer there today, who can aswer your
question. I will check to see what is necessary to join the Indiana
Pioneers.

I was in contact with Morris Orman a while back and after seeing some
interest in the name here on the net, decided to send a copy of my
letters to and from him. I looked him up and visited with him later and
showed him my material on the Luthers from Dr Schroeder that I got from]
his son after the Dr died. Les J lejohnson(a)kiwi.dep.anl.gov
