The 1860 census is from a CD that I bought and the 1870 is from my Clay
County InGenWeb site.
As for listing Sarah J. as a "spinster" in the eighteen hundreds they
didn't live as long as we do now and they were qick to list a single woman
as a spinster.I also think they wanted to list a occupation fo everyone
over the age of 15 or so and needed something to list for Sarah.
