We had a good Thanksgiving Day - hope you all did too..
Is there anyone out there that knows about the history of Mt. Zion
Church, County Rd. 750E, l/8 mile south of Hwy. 46. Do you know of
anyone who attended the Church and may have information about it and
its' membership. The Church is in wonderful condition, so it must have
been in use not too long ago. I wonder why there is no name on it?..
Jacob and Delila Price (my ancestors) and some of their family are
buried in the cemetery there; I assume they attended Mt. Zion Church,
although they lived at Jordan Village.
Thank you Heidi Rogers for the cemetery information and listing of the
Prices buried there. I have gone to the cemetery and taken pictures of
the headstones. It is beautiful and quite well kept -- and a very
peaceful setting.
I long to know more about the organization of the Church and cemetery!!
Thank you much.. Nancee(McMurtrey)Seifert at iggy29(a)scican.net
p.s. I am a native Iowan;moved to Colorado in l972; moved to California
in l989 (was there for the BIG QUAKE); moved back to Pella, Iowa where I
operated a B&B; moved south of Martinsville, IN. 4 years ago and built a
log home on 5 acres. So, I'm close enough to run around Clay and Owen
Counties! I'm always excited to get acquainted with people in this area!
