Hi Becky,
I have Craigs married into my Neal family. It began with Rhoda Neal
marrying Thomas Alex Craig in 1868 (Thomas came from Illinois). Their
children were Henry, Thomas C. and Etta. I have their children's names and
some dates.
Henry Craig and Ethel Austin (Craig)'s children were Austin, Earnest,
Orval, Latilla, Reba, Rhoda, Cecil and Mildred. I only have their names.
Thomas C. (I think probably the "C" stands for Coppock from his
Grandfather, Thomas Coppock Neal) and Clara Patternson (Craig)'s children
were Eva C. b. 1890, d. 1963 m. William C. Brent, Ruby b. 1892 d. 1992 m.
Joseph McCall, Ida b. 1895 d. 1946 m. Ray Stalcup, Cora (no dates maybe
living) m. Joseph Burcham, Zella R. b. 1898 d. 1987 m. William Leroy
Anthony, Jack "Hally" b. 1901 d. 1976 m. Maxine Cochran m. May Moses.
Etta married Wallace Thornton.
I have some of Thomas C.'s grandchildren, but if any of these people are
yours please let me know. I know there was a Craig that ran a business in
Jasonville in the early 1900's.
I found a Callie Craig buried at Sanders Cemetery in Lewis Township, Clay
County, Indiana. (This is where Coalmont is located.) Dates are 1883 -
1919. There's a headstone nearby that says "infant of Walter E. & Callie b.
and d. 5/25/1901". But there's no stone for Walter at present which does
not mean there wasn't one. The cemetery is old and it's way back on a
county road and wasn't kept up for years.
If I can be of any further help just click the reply button, and I'll do
my best. If you have any info on my Craigs I would appreciate anything.
Doris Louise Neal,
A Hoosier
