Jill,
According to the WPA Marriage Index
Thomas Lawson, 22, son of Jackson and Rhoda A. (last name unknown; it was obviously
mis-read in transcription; the index spells it MCCWTTA) October 11, 1887; Clay County Bk
7, Pg 39 and C-23, 216
I couldn't find a marriage for Jackson and Rhoda. I did find a later marriage for
Jackson:
Jackson Lawson, 47, son of Andrew and Martz Jennings, md Polly M. Tilley
Sept 20, 1883; Clay County Bk 6, Pg 70 and C-23, Pg 66.
Based on the above, here's Thomas with his parents in 1880 census:
T9-316, Vigo Cnty, Lost Creek Twp, Pg 229B:
Lawson, Jackson 49 Hd Farmer b. IN fa: KY mo: KY
Rhoda 38 Wife b. IN fa: TN mo: TN
Thomas 14 Son IN IN IN
John 9 Son IN IN IN
Richard 7 Son IN IN IN
William 4 Son IN IN IN
Annie 2 Dau IN IN IN
Hope this helps, you may email me directly if you have any questions on the above.
I'm not researching the family, simply provided a lookup.

Subject: [INCLAY] Thomas and Mahala Lawson
Hello all,
I am new to this list. I am starting to research my husband's family. I
think that Thomas and Mahala Lawson married in 1887 may be his great, great
grandparents. Does anyone know this line of Lawsons? Any help would be
greatly appreciated. Jill Lawson
