taxes are paid in vigo county but some have seelyville post office and
telephone and a Brazil , clay co address.. live in seelyville pay taxes
to vigo address is brazil clay co. -- one place depends on where you are
at in the house.. line goes between barn and house... yep that is correct
house in clay co and pays taxes in clay co... and barn is in vigo co and
pays taxes in vigo county.. (at one time line divided the house) but

If this cemetery is where you are suggesting, I would think that it is
in
Vigo County, not Clay, especially since you mentioned Seelyville.
I jumped into the Indiana State Library's Cemetery Locator database.
Only
one cemetery retrieves under Lost Creek. Here is the info given:
VIGO COUNTY
LOST CREEK TWP
NW 1/4 SEC 3
12N8W
When did Samuel Lowe die? I have heard lots of historical
information
about the African-American Lost Creek community east of Terre Haute.
I
remember being out that way once, can't remember why, and seeing a
historical marker. Rarely have time or reason to get out to the more
rural
areas of the county, so am not very familiar with most any direction
outside
the city.
If this is not the cemetery you visited, you might want to search for
a Vigo
County Rootsweb mailing list and post your query there. Or visit the
Vigo
County Public Library's Special Collections Dept to do more genealogy
research.
