Arthur Lewis Fiscus
CLAY CITY - Arthur Lewis Fiscus, 81, of Clay City died at 11:45 p.m.
Saturday, June 25, 2005, in St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a
teacher at Kentland High School for four years and at Griffith High School
for 34 years, before retiring in 1984. He was born May 8, 1924, in Coal City
to David Fiscus and Emma Kieffaber Fiscus. Survivors include his wife,
Eleanor E. Leigh Fiscus, to whom he was a wonderful husband since their
marriage Nov. 17, 1966; one cousin, Eldon Kieffaber; and many, many friends.
He was a 1942 graduate of Coal City High School and a 1946 graduate of
Indiana State University, receiving his master's degree in 1956. He was an
Army veteran of World War II, a friend and former member of Good Hope
Baptist Church and the Clay City American Legion, and enjoyed riding
motorcycles, flying airplanes, fishing and gardening. Services are 1 p.m.
Wednesday in Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, with the Revs. Ed Phillips and Olin
Strader officiating. Burial is in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation is 11
a.m. until services Wednesday.
