I think many of Indiana's original state parks were built by CCC.

CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) - The Hoover admin. refused to
consider
federal payments to the jobless. In 1932, the average weekly payment to
an
out-of-work' family in NY City was $2.39. Roosevelt thought that
relief
should be local responsibility, not federal. On March 21, 1933, the White
House sent two major relieve proposals to Capitol Hill. The CCC was the
first one. The CCC provided government conservation jobs to 'city boys',
ages 17-24, in isolated camps run by the U.S. Army. The pay was
$30/month,
with $22 going directly to the worker's family. These workers
cleaned
beaches, built wildlife shelters, fought forest fires, and stocked rivers
and streams. In some areas, they even built bridges and worked on roads.
