There was a big business in Vigo county operated by the Pfister family in
the late 70's early 80's. that you could probalby find your family -- it was
a real estate business and mortage loan. The last person to run the
business was Paul Pfister with his brother Robert.

Message Board Post:
I am researching my gg-grand parents, John Heim, born Aug 8, 1846, and
Mary
Pfister, born February 1953 . Mary Pfister (age 14 when immigrated) had
a brother named Samuel Pfister (age 12 when immigrated) and a sister named
Louisa Pfister. I do not know if Louisa ever married or not.
According to the 1880 Indiana Census, it states that John Heim and Mary
Pfister
were from in Prussia. However, the 1900, 1910, and 1920 census
records state that John Heim was born in Germany and that Mary Pfister was
born in Switzerland (possibly Berne).
They were supposed to have been married in Clay Township, Clay County,
Indiana on
Dec 19, 1873. The 1900 census states that John had been
naturalized. I would say that they were probably naturalized in Indiana,
prior to moving to Kansas.
Mary and John had 12 children. The names that I have are as follows:
Mary, Emma,
John, Rosa, Dora Anna, Elizabeth Nettie, Sophia, Minnie, John
Fred, Samuel, baby boy and another baby.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Lisa
