BRAZIL, Ind. Oct. 4—Mrs. Minnie May Brough, widow of the late John Brough, died at 11:15
o’clock Sunday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alma Hayman, at Clay City, aged 73
years. The deceased is survived by two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Alma Hayman of Clay
City, Mrs. Lydia P. Freeman of Bloomington, Leo Brough of Terre Haute and Howard Brough of
Clay City; also 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. George
Robinson of Clay City. The body was taken to the Schoppenhorst Funeral Home and was
returned this afternoon to the home of the daughter, Mrs. Hayman. Funeral services will
be held at the Clay City U.B. church at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, interment at the
Maple Grove cemetery.
TERRE HAUTE TRIBUNE, Pg. 2, Saturday, March 7, 1942
CLAY CITY, Ind, March 7—John Brough, 84 years old, died at 5:30 o’clock Friday evening at
the residence one-half mile north of here. He is survived by the widow, Minnie Brough;
two sons, Howard Brough, of Clay City, and Leo Brough, of Terre Haute; three daughters,
Mrs. Lizzie Freeman of Bloomington, Ind.; Mrs. Alma Haymen, of Clay City, and Mrs. Mary
Hall, of Spencer; one brother, William Brough; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Eisinger, of
Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The body was taken to the
Schoppenhorst Funeral Home and was returned to the residence Saturday afternoon. Funeral
services will be held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon at the United Brethren church with
burial in Maple Grove cemetery.
