Just found your query about the Anderson/Shattuck line.
Hope this may be of some little help. Let me know if you want more on the Anderson Line.
ote: Wm. Thomas Anderson lived in Iowa with his parents Vincent and wife and drove cattle
to Minn. until the family returned to Clay Co., In in 1861. In August of 1861 he enlisted
in Co. A., Forty-third Ind. Vol. Inf. and remained with his unit until 1863. In 1864 he
was detatched from his unit and sent back to Indiana to recruit more men. In April 1864 he
was sent to Little Rock, Ark and discovered most of his unit had been captured by the
Confederate army. He returned to Indianapolis with the remainder of his unit and guarded
prisoners in Indianapolis. In the meantime he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. In
June 1865 he was honorably discharged. He then returned home to farming in the Bowling
Green, In area until he then moved to the Dick Johnson Twnshp, Clay Co, In.
