I just noticed this message and I can tell you it is between 7 and 10
dollars for health department death certificates.. as for an obituary you
might try the Terre Haute Tribune Star newspaper sometimes you can get them
online - but they are on film at Vigo co public library in Terre Haute --
unless it so old. My grandmother's obit was in paper and she died in 1930.
just a hint.

Tracy,
If you contact the health dept. in Clay County (now I'm assuming that it's
the same as it is here) and give them the name and date of death, they can
get it for you. I don't know what the cost is, but I'm sure that they will
give you all that info when you call. I don't live there, so I can't tell
you what the number is for the health dept. As far as an obituary, you
might see if someone can do a look-up for you. We have volunteers listed on
our Shelby County web site, so maybe there are some on the Clay County site.
You could also check with the newspaper to see if they have those available
online.
Good Luck,
Melinda

Melinda, Thank you for responding-I do not have an obituary. I don't
know
how to go about getting a death certificate for Indiana-wouldn't
I need a
complete date?
Thanks,
Tracy
