I have a Question?
My Dad was born in Brazil, Clay Co., most all of his relatives were born
in Clay Co.. I've seen the town Centerpoint, spelled two ways, all one word
and two words. My dad told me that Centerpoint, was the only plave in the
U.S. with the spelling, "Centerpoint"(all one word). I've transcribed some
family information, with both spellings.
I'd like to hear from some "locals", as to how the name is spelled on the
sign on outskirts of town. Also, could I have " the word", on the name,
from the great people at the Libaray, in Centerpoint.
I know this sounds trivial, but it's very important to me, since I have
both Scharff/Scharf relatives and Brewer relatives, who were born there. I
want the spelling correct, for my genealogy programs.
Thank you one and all. It is very nice to hear about
people, that actually live in the area and can help those of us, that are"
far from Home"! The Riddell Bank was started by a cousin of my Dad's.
Lucinda McIntosh married Thomas Riddell, their daughter Catherine married
George Scharff Jr., and their daughter was Mary Kathryn( My Grandma), who
married( my Grandpa), Hobart M. Brewer.
Thanks again for the help,
Cindy Brewer Dooley
