This from the Clay County Enterprise on Thursday, April 7, 1898:
Harry Josephs has contracted with John Vanes for a 10,000 gallon oil storage
tank.
Preston Russell, Clay City, has had his pension increased from $12 to $14
per month.
Lester Turner has sold the Grand Central barbar shop to Schmidt & Summers,
who have converted it into a white shop.
Christopher Kimmel, of Seeleyville, took medicine for external use inwardly
by mistake last Friday, from the effects of which he died.
While wrestling with a playmate, Joseph Fetters, living on West Knight
street, was thrown down Monday afternoon and sustained a broken arm.
A.R. Sampson and Lillie Campbell were married at the residence of the bride's
parents in Dick Johnson township last Wednesday evening. Squire Schultz
performing the ceremony.
Jennie Black was granted a divorce from Curtis E. Black in the Vigo court
last week. Plaintiff was given custody of the child and $5 per week for
its maintenance. They formerly resided in Bowling Green, and later in Clay
City.
