I checked my Sherfey-Kidd Funeral Home book for the years 1880-1903 and did not find Abel McQueen. The address for the Clay County Genealogical Society Library is; research(a)ccgsilib.org You must put the work "research" in the subject line for them to receive it. I volunteer there on Mondays and will be happy to check for you. Please answer me privately. campbell(a)comwares.net

While reviewing the Civil War Pension Record family member Capt. Cullen
Bradley, he used Eaglesfield PO as his mailing address during the period was from
the 1870 to 1900. Does anyone know where Eaglesfield PO was located? Jim

I am looking for an obit for Mildred G. Whitmore. She was born on Dec. 14, 1903, place unknown. She died on July 6, 1995 in Clay City, Clay, Indiana. She was my grandfathers 2nd wife, I know nothing of either one of them. Apparently the link library.tribstar.com/ doesn't work anymore. Any information would be helpful. Thank you

Jane, contact the Clay County Genealogy Society, www.ccgsilib.org. They have indexed death records, funeral home records, and many more records. Most death records weren't required until 1882, but if the death was before then you might find something in some of the other records mentioned above.

Message Board Post:
Are there any death records for the 1880, 1881, and 1882 time frames for Clay Co.?
The above mentioned Abel McQueen was head of household with his son Cyrus living with him on the 1880 census. Think he may have died in 1881.
Are there any cemetery records that might be checked?
Thank you for any help.
Jane in Ohio
