Does anyone on the list know a Frances Jones of Brazil and how I can reach
her. She is in possession of a Bible with Daniel Wools' name in it. I would
like to get in touch with her or her decendent.
Thank you very much,
Carol Blacketer Wools
From the Clay County Citizen, Bowling Green,
issue August 8, l855:
As some are not aware of the fact, we would state
that a new Post Office has recently been established
in this county, about five and a half miles from this
place on the Brazil road, formerly known as Kennedy's
Mills, now called Centre Point. Our friend Mr. B. S.
(surname illegible), merchant, is postmaster and will
receive the names of all the people in that vicinitiy who
wish to subscribe for the Citizen. As the paper will reach
them the same day it is published, we hope to receive a
big list from that office.

Interested in contacting anyone researching this Roberts family. Apparently
the family was in Georgia in 1792, moved to Kentucky (assume Henry Co KY),
and moved to Clay Co Indiana about 1830-1.
Thomas Shockley Roberts was born 30 Oct 1792 and he lived in Henry County
Kentucky. I had assumed that he was born in this county until I read the
1860 Census of Clay County where I learned that he was born in Georgia. He
married Nancy Ann Kelly, who was born 3 Aug 1797 (and I had assumed that she
was born in Henry Co., Kentucky). I've identified eight children to Thomas
and his first wife Nancy Ann Kelly. These Roberts children are:
Jemima Ann b. 16 Jan 1820 (Jemima married Alexander Williams)
Joseph b. 22 Apr 1821 (Joseph married Mary Boling in Putnam County Indiana
on 12-15-1844)
Martha Patsy b. 23 Dec 1822 (Martha married William Barnett)
Nancy Ann b. 27 May 1824 (Nancy married William King Matkins in Putnam
County Indiana), d. 17 Feb 1875 in Putnam County Indiana
Sarah b. 1 Jan 1826 (Sarah married Charles N. Mills in Clay County Indiana
27 Oct 1849 according to Clay County maternity affidavits #2, p44
Asa b. 27 Apr 1828
William T b. 11 Sep 1830 (William T married twice; first to a Martha & then
to a Mary)
Eleanor Ellen b. 20 Jan 1832 (Eleanor married Benjamin Boling)
Louise Elizabeth b. 1 Aug 1834 (Louise married Pleasant Lucas)
