Boy, that is a new one for me. I did not know anything about the Shanks. I
only knew what my uncle and cousins said when they met Shonks and found out
that they had been shonkwilers. I thank you for the information---I now
know to ask, also, I did not know about the Beech cemetery. Jan, I missed
this boat all together! Bill

knowledge, did not change their names when they came from Ohio. The
original name is Shank. The first place I can find this family is in
Lancaster County, PA. They came by wagon train to Owen County in the 1840's
with other Moravian's and Mennonites from Tuscarawas County, Ohio. I think
I am wrong about the cemetery they are in. I have been there and taken
photos. I will look it up. Thanks for responding.
