I hope someone is familiar with what the CCC's meant. It would be great if we
could get our hands on some of those records! My brother in law was a member
before he went into the service. He worked in the woods building lodges and
camping sites.
If you find that some of those boys worked in the mines, I would be very
interested in having that source of information. We have a Notebook at CCGS
Library called Mines and Miners that I have been adding information to for about 4
years.

I sent some information from the Harrison Twp., Cemetery Book to to Beckmiller. Do I also need to send them to you Sharon? Also, MG is the abbreviation for Maple Grove Cemetery which about a half mile south of Greenwell Cemetery.

It helps on one of them, but my Grandfather was either on his own as Charles Jessup or he was living with his Mom (Sarah Greenwell) and his step father Phillip Greenwell.
I did find his step brother Melvin Greenwell on the 1910 census on Ancestry.com. But I went through most of Southern Clay County and a few townships three times.

I have an index for 1910 but don't have the images for Clay County; if no one else responds, you should be able to find him on Ancestry from this:
Jessup, Silas 45, Male, White, b. IN, Clay County, Clay City,
T624-343, Pt 1, Pg 152
Hope this helps

I want to thank everyone for all of their assistance over the years on this Great Search. I am missing the census years of 1910 I have paged through numerous pages of the census on Ancestry.com and still haven't found where the family is .
My Grandfather was born in 1884 on February 12. Not 1896 like I was started so many years ago. All his paperwork that I have requested says that his Father was Silas Jessup and his mother was Sarah E. Fiscus (she married Phillip Greenwell).
Sarah had a sister named Emma who married a Charlie (last name was Norris).
I have a picture of Emma with my Uncle and my Grandparents when they visited. My Mom took it on one of their visits. I also have a picture of my Grandfather with Sarah (Fiscus) Greenwell.
If anyone can do look ups for 1910 Census please send me infomation on this. Thank you in advance for your time.

Do you have any info on the Arthur Neese you are looking for. The surname Neese is more common then I thought it was. My grandfather was Arthur Clarence Neese dob 1915. His father was Augustus Riley Neese and mother Sybil (Brockett) Neese.

I would be happy to share my research with you.
Hope maybe we can find more members of this fascinating family.

In the 60's, babies were often taken to counties other than where the birth
occurred for new parents. The adoption then was done in that county. You might
even try reading the Terre Haute paper for the week following the birth. They
printed birth announcements as part of the regular news.

you MIGHT be able to do some sneak work and find what you want.. In our county the records would be in the clerk's office of the court house I am not sure about Monroe county but where ever Marriage applications and court records are kept for your county.. Look through the old records and you might find when it went to court.. The language will sound rude and tough but some times you have to realize things were different than what the legal words are.... example sometimes you find a divorce where the reason was cruel and inhuman treatment... which sounds like the person was beat up and straved.. when really it was because one party was having an affair with someone else.. which is bad but not dangerous to the other person.as being slapped around would be..

Dear Lettie,
I have recently taken on the task of researching the Wools family tree. My family line is through Freeman I. Wools, Austin's brother. Any information would be helpful. I don't know where you are in your search but if I'll be glad to share what I've found. Hope this reaches you.
Thank You,
Beckie
