[INCLAY] GILBERT family
by S. Charmaine Klemczewski
Hi! I have been watching the correspondence between a few of you about
the GILBERT FAMILY. I, too, am descended from and researching the
GILBERT family from Clay Co, IN.
I am interested in Ebenezer GILBERT b 1825 OH who married Lydia WALKER
b Jan 1830 Clay Co, IN--date married unk. Lydia's mother was Mary WALKER
prob. b TN late 1700's. Am trying to find out Mary's maiden name and
husband's name and any siblings that Lydia may have had. The censuses
show many Walkers and so far I can't tell who belongs to what family. In
the 1850 census Mary is listed as living with Ebenezer & Lydia. Ebenezer
& Lydia then show up in the 1860 Edgar Co, IL census without Mary, so I'm
assuming she died in that 10 yr span, but would like to know for sure.
Ebenezer & Lydia had a dau Almyra/Almira "Mary" b 1850 Clay Co, IN who m
John WYATT b 1852 Edgar Co, IL in July 1870 Edgar Co, IL. Am also
interested in Almyra's siblings names. I believe that Ebenezer's
father's name was also Ebenezer Gilbert.
Would like to hear from any of you that may have come across any of these
families, have info on them or are researching them.
I also have been wondering if any of you know whether the Clay Co Library
or Genealogical society has any info on these families and what your
experience with them has been like. Do you know what they charge to do
lookups etc.
Charmaine
