I'm looking for a death record for Jane Denning sometims spelled Dinning who died in Terra Haute, Indiana. She died around 1856 or 1857. I do not have a date she died or even a cemetery she is buried in. All I know is that she died in one of those two years with male child. They died from Milk fever.
I don't think her husband John placed a stone on the graves.

Hi Carol, Philip Young Boyd and Hannah Danhauer were my gggrandparents.
I live on the site of their homestead in Jackson Twp. Clay Co. Indiana.
Philip and Hannah came to Clay Co. from Muskingum Co. Ohio in the late
1840s. I can trace Hannah's family back to Germany, but have not been able
to discover Philip's ancestry. He was born, I think, in either New Jersey
or Maryland. Can you help? Let me know, if you are a descendant of
Philip's line, as I am.
Thank you. Herb Rissler

I'm not related to this family, but I found this photo at auction and "rescued" it.
Date: 14 Aug 1927.
Location: Brazil, Clay County, Indiana.
Photographer: R.B. Hape Photo, Terre Haute.
The original photo is a sepia tone, but I scanned it in grayscale to make the file a reasonable size, while retaining a good resolution. Also, I needed to scan the original panoramic photo in 2 segments and join them together. The photo is almost 19" long, and a little over 7" tall, and is framed behind glass.
If any family members are interested in the original photo, they can have it for what I paid for it. Otherwise, I will donate it to the Clay County Genealogical Society. See the attachment to see if you recognize anyone. I hope this is able to help someone!
Just a note on the use of this feature...I've found that you must
click the SEARCH button to perform the search. Hitting your RETURN
of ENTER key won't do.

In using the site for The Brazil Times and clicking on Obituaries, if you put
in a name and nothing happens does that mean there aren't any obituaries
under that name?
I am not familiar with the newspaper.

Hi Becky,
Are you local? If so, may I ask you to look up someone

I was just in it in the last couple of minutes. It is 8:55 p.m. here,
Eastern Standard Time in Terre Haute, Indiana which is about 12 miles from
Brazil. The site is working fine, and today's headline story is about 5
sets of twins.
