Thanks, Sharon and Barbara,
I think Lewis and Elizabeth Rector lived in Perry Township, Clay County,
Indiana. According to the Cory Story they did. I'm looking for dates.
The 1908 date seems reasonable, Sharon.

This is to give thanks to J. GROVES-HURT for the information on the
Loudermilks.
Now all I have to do is fill in the blanks.

Hi List and Loudermilk researchers,
I have two distant connections to Loudermilks and have always wondered
if they are connected.
1. I have Stephen A. Lowdermilk and Mary Graves on my file because
Mary's sister, Zylphia Graves married Solomon Voncannon. Zylvhia and
Solomon were my gr gr grandparents. FTM tells me I am a 2nd gr
grandnephew of Mary Graves.
2. Zylphia Graves and Solomon Voncannon had a daughter Alice "Allie"
Jane Voncannon who married John Engle Muncy. They had a daughter,
Armilda Muncie married Otis Whittington. Their daughter Nellie Mae
Whittington married Oris E. Loudermilk.
Have always wondered if this Oris E. Loudermilk, married to a 1st
cousin, once removed, was any relation to the older Stephen A.
Lawdermilk?
Does anyone know?

Hi List,
Can anyone tell me where Lewis and Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Stoops) Rector are
buried. She's my great aunt. I've looked in every cemetery book and have
not found them.
Thank you.
Doris Louise Neal,
in Clay County, Indiana
Hi List,
I am working on my sister in laws line, and find the counties of Vigo and Clay, having much information and some great resources.
I am having problems with one of these two names moreso.
Frank BLANGIN was born 4 Jul 1906, supposedly on the ship coming over from France.
We know he had a younger brother named Alfred, and an older one, Emil born 22 Sep 1905 died Jun 1965.
Frank married Lillian Alfreda "Freda" Howard in either Vigo or Clay Counties, She was born in Brazil, Clay Co in 1910 to Ezra Frank and Lena (Fore) Howard. By the 1920 census She is listed living with her parents in Fayette Twp Vigo. Frank worked in the coal mines for awhile.
Frank and Freda had 4 children, with the second oldest being born in 1934 in Chicago. (Story goes that Freda said she would marry Frank only if they moved to Chicago)
So I estimate they married around 1930, does anyone have access to finding their marriage record? I did check the Vigo on line database, but the years posted, they are not found.
Also I do not know when The BLANGIN family came to the area, there is some talk that the mothers name was Clemence. Also that she divorced BLANGIN and married a WALLEY
The BLANGIN name is not common, and the only ones listed on the web are the ones I put there or SSDI. There is talk that the name may have been changed.
I have searched the Ellis Island site too, with no luck for finding BLANGIN. I have traced the Howard line back into Kentucky, and they are in Posey Twp alot.
Thanks for any help or direction.
Laurie

Doris,
There was an Elizabeth Rector, age 62, who died Apr 7, 1906 in Clay County; Dick Johnson Twp, Bk H-17, pg. 67. Could that be her? Do you have a date of death? The death certificte should tell you where she was buried OR if you can find an obit, hopefully, it would tell you. Have you checked the obit index on the Vigo Webpage?

I not sure about the Lowdermilks, but I am interested in the Drake also.
Did this family move on to MO? James W. Gilbert, b. Clay Co. IN, after
marriage to Zilpa Elizabeth Slack moved to Taney Co. MO. where his daughter
married a Benjamin Franklin Drake, son of Richard Drake. Connie
My interest is the Auman/Orman line, so I don't do Slack research. I can
tell you this, there is an abundance of information available at the Clay
County Genealogical Society in Center Point about this family.
