I am trying to find Civil War and any other info for John Dalgam.
His family was from Coffee, Lewis Twp, Clay County, IN.
A cousin of mine has recently found his photo in a Union Civil War uniform
and just a little info about him. But we are trying to find more.
Is there a site with Clay County Civil War Soldiers listed? And perhaps
their regiments?
Thank you for any help.
My email is mhazel4949(a)aol.com.. Thanks for any help.
I finally got into the site and it does provide some information, but NO
names of individuals who came in thru Ellis! It does provide some addresses
for the Branches of the National Archives. Needless to say, I was
disappointed at not being able to research those lists!
Mary
Hey! Check this out. It's a cool site from Aramark Parks.
http://www.ellisisland.com/
Here is a site for those whose ancestors came thru Ellis Island.

Barb,
No, I don't have a Sarah Lecompte YET. Nor do I have any Indiana census
records. I just very recently found out that they lived in Indiana. I have a
miners record of them living in Illinois but not Indiana. And the records
that are on the Clay Co. site does not have them. But I will keep searching.
Have a good evening,

Delaware census for 1820?? Last I looked it wasn't on line.
Does it cover Kent county? I bought church records, but they turned out to
be only the southern counties.
If you have time, ...
We're looking for records of James (probably James N.) Harris, and a son
Richard John (ahem) b 4 Sep 1820 (maybe too late for the census) and any
other children. They moved to Terre Haute in 1825, from where we have
pretty complete family histories. James was probably in some iron-working
business, smith or farrier or foundry or furnace, or even hardware store,
which went out of business and was sold off in a sherriff's sale, probably
about 1824.
There is a family connection to the Prices in the same neighborhood.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Dick (Richard John) Harris

The information in the letters was scant as they only mentioned that Sarah
O'day had married a Mr LeCompte and they had moved to Indiana. Do you have
any Sarah Lecompte in your records? If we come up with any connection I do
have census records in Delaware for 1820 and 1830. Do you have any Indiana
Census Records for LeCompte? Barb

Hi Barbara,
What I have is from the time they moved to Tennessee up till now. All of the
immediate family or the 7 that came from Indiana have all passed. Their
children and Grand-Children are all that are left. That information I would
be willing to share. But that is about all the information that I have. I
would love to know more about what you have and the LECOMTE that was
mentioned in the letters.

Thank you Sharon,
And yes it does help. I will be able to get that in the mail this weekend.
Thank you also for the address and requirements for obtaining the birth and
death certificates.
