Hi Barb,
No I am not Norma Jackson.....a different Norma - I am researching my STITT
line.
I found that Lewis Stitt my great grandfather was married to Anna Rector in
Clay
County. Lewis and Anna are on the 1900 census with Julia Rector - age 11
born April 1889.
John Rector with Anna listed as wife are on the Vigo County, IN 1880 census.
Is this John one of your Rectors?
Norma {California}
Hi Harold,
Thanks for your note. I'll bounce your names off my grandmother and see if
they ring a bell. At 93, her short-term memory is not so hot anymore but the
long-term is still there.
Thanks!
Rhonda H.
Hi Rhonda,
I have been trying to make a connection to your Bolins
but haven't been able to yet.
My gr grandfather was John Engle Muncy/Muncie and
he had a sister Harriet Muncy that married a James Bolin.
James and Harriet Muncy Bolin had a son Ersom Bolin
that married Nancy Jane Myers. Nancy Jane was my grandmother's
sister.
It is kind of strange but my grandparents were William
Leonard Muncie and Sarah Ellen Myers. I gr gr aunt married a
Bolin and their son married a Myers. These Clay County people
were sort of mixed up and I am having a lot of fun trying to
sort them out.
Good Luck with your search,
Harold Wayne Green (Originally from Center Point)
now in Indianapolis
She still lives in town'

I am looking for information on the BOLIN family of Clay and Putnam counties.
My grandmother is Hila BOLIN, (born Jan. 13, 1908--still alive), she had two
sisters, Mabel and Myrtle, (1901-1979). Their parents were Samuel J. BOLIN
(1878-1949) and Minne I. (STALLCOP) BOLIN, (1880-1931). Both Samuel and
Minnie are buried at Croy's Creek Cemetery, Putnam County. I don't know when
they married.
Samuel's parents were Benjamin and Ellen (ROBERTS) BOLIN, dates of birth and
death unknown. Benjamin's father may have been Luther BOLIN, from N.
Carolina, no further information. Ellen's father may have been William
ROBERTS, but again, I'm not sure and have no further information. Benjamin
and Ellen also may have had a daughter, Anna.
This branch of the BOLINS went between Putnam and Clay counties. Benjamin
BOLIN is said to have been the first white child born in Clay County after it
was incorporated, but I have not verified that.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rhonda (STEARLEY) Hebert from Connecticut, daughter of Robert J. STEARLEY of
Brazil, and Helen (DELLACCA) Stearley of Perth. If anyone knows them from
Brazil High School (Class of 47 and 50), they are doing great.
Been to rocky fork several times, years ago. Its north of carbon on SR
59about 3 miles and then east about 3 miles, not sure about red hill? Lived
in Brazil until 1982.

Surname: Crosby, Griffith, Vanderpool, Dalton, Chastain
-------------------------
Would Levi be a brother to George W. Griffith? I am looking into the same
families. Bartlet Griffith b. abt 1809 married a Janie Dalton. children
were Samuel Sampson, Joseph, Elizabeth, Oliver, William and Henry. I think
maybe Charity was also in that family. She is found on the 1850 census
with a Samson Phips and Dolly Dalton Phips. I am seeing possible connections/same
names with these three families. Bartlet's father was Joseph. I think he
also had a brother named Joseph. Bartlet named a son Joseph and I suspect
his brother Joseph also named a son Joseph. If you come up with anything
that will clear up my confusion, let me know.
What McQueary family are you researching?
Mary
