Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I was in Center Point Wednesday and purchased the cemetery book on Posey
Township if you need me to look up anything. The book lists all
information on the stones and tells what cemetery each is located all in
alphebetical order. $15.00 per book. They just finished it. The women
there seem to work very hard for you and are a great help seaching while
you are there.
Susan, glad to see a familiar person is on here. You can keep me
straight on these things... ha, ha,,
I will have to win the lottery or something to afford a secretary to
help me get caught up on data entry. After I got started putting out
queries I got so many wonderful responses, but have been stuck on my
Persingers, that I haven't gotten everything entered as yet. I started
entering info sent to me, but then others told me I should check it out
and verify it before I did, and not enough hours in a day for me to do
it. After I get back from VA on this Persinger jaunt to cemeteries and
libraries I hope to dedicate more time to my Summerlot and other lines.
If you would send me the files you were speaking of I would appreciate
it. I know you sent me some info a few months ago and I applologize for
not knowing, but looking through my notes I didn't copy the files, just
the emails and when my computer crashed a few months ago I lost
everything. Would love your sources so I will know where and what to
look for copies of, if you don't mind sharing that. But would love
anything you would share.
I believe I found the Baston spelling in info at Centerpoint in Clay
County. Was there Wednesday and saw a couple of your email queries in
the Bolton file. I remember you saying the spelling should be Batson or
Bateson but I have not come across those spellings on anything as yet.
I am sure you are correct about it though and that is why I didn't find
anything further on the Baston family.
Thanks again for your help. Lin
You're a life saver. I am looking for any Yocums that are supposedly buried
in a Yocum Cemetery. Also, a James Welch, who was married to Elizabeth Yocum,
died possibly in Clay County in 1835, either on the way back to Clay or once
he got home. I'm trying to find his place of burial--someplace between
Montgomery County, KY and Clay County, IN. If the book looks fruitful and
there are a lot of Yocums, I would like to order the book. I'd appreciate a
lookup, and I would be happy to pay you. Thanks in advance. Sharon
Lin,
I noticed you said that you are working on the Persinger line from VA. I
have Persinger line from there also. Have quite a bit on my line...please
email and let me know who you are back to and and how far. Thanks....Janet
Miller...(Treeseek2(a)aol.com)
Sharon,
I don't have any of the cemetary records. But the geneological society is in
the process of printing them. They have most of Posey twp done if I recall
correctly. There is a link from the Clay co. Genweb site. And you just go to
the offerings if you want to buy the book. Or you can ask if a volunteer will
check for a listing. I have used their volunteers and have found them to be
very good and very inexpensive.

Hi Linda. Saw your msg. John Cashman's info was included in that tree I had
sent you previously or thought I had. Kind of seems now like you were just
getting started with FTM. John and I have corresponded before. Also, Eliza
is, I believe, a Bateson or possibly Batson but not Baston. I can send you a
gedcom or ftm file for this if you're interested. Let me know if you find out
anything of interest. I'd appreciate it!
Susan
Several have asked me to post my Miller lines. I hesitated to do this as
they were mostly in Coles Co., IL. However these famiies are closely
allied with some of my other lines in Clay and Owen Counties IN so I
decided to go ahead. Some of these Millers spent time in Vermillion Co.
IN. If anyone sees a tie in...please write.

Hello, my name is Linda Bertram and my parents and grandparents are from
the Clay County areas where family has lived since the 1800's. My
grandfather, John Henry Summerlot married Maggie Everwine Willis. He
passed away in 1960 and she in 1963. They had both been married
previously, had children, and both spouses passed away. They were
married and had children together.
Some other names we are searching for is Bolton, Everwine, Persinger,
McCreery, and Carr, which all were from the Clay County and Owen County
areas.
I would love to hear from anyone connected or that may have information
on my family. I have a lot to share, but am still working on all lines.

Terrie, finally someone from Posey Township. Do you have any records for that
township? I am looking for a Yocum Cemetery that is in Posey Twp. Any info
would be appreciated. Thanks! Sharon
I would like information on the relationship (if any) between Zachariah MOORE
born in Kentucky 1824/5 and Thomas L. MOORE b. Kentucky 1798. Thomas patented
land in Clay Co.in 1838 and is a resident there till at least the 1870 census.
The land that Zachariah (he married Hannah Jane ANTRIM) left his family in his
will dated November 1862 (proved July 1863) has two tracts that Thomas
patented.
I am also interested in other descendants of the above two men. And my brick
wall is how did Zachariah die? One branch of the family believes he died in
the war. Would welcome the chance to share information.
Terri Moore Stoikes
I am a descendant of Isaac MOORE and Jaculine ALBERT who settled in Posey twp
around 1850 (possibly earlier) I have some information relating the the
younger children (particularly Nancy who married a Sameul M. Moore) Would like
to share information on this family.

Hi List,
The Sullivan County, IN list is now ready to use. We are not listed on the
"User Mailing Lists" hosted by Rootsweb yet, but it does work.
My name is Donna Cooper. I will try my best to make this an interesting list.
I'm not 100% sure of what I'm doing, but I'll try. I felt a need for
information about Sullivan Co.
So, here we are.
