On the 1850 Census of Morgan Harbin I read his wife name was Martha not
Martie and Patsy or Pattie often used as nickname for Martha .so I am sure
Morgan must have died between that 1850 Cen and 1860 where Patsy is noted as
Widow.. He does not show on Ky Deaths either he died after 1850 Census and
before 1852 -1953........or he must have died in Indiana and they do not
have deaths before 1882

Subject: [INCLARK] BRICK WALL WITH HARBIN SURNAME
I have a real problem regarding a Morgan or Hamilton HARBIN in
Jefferson
Co., KY & Clark County, IN in the mid 1800's. I have tracked
"Morgan"
through Laurel County, KY (1830), Mercer County, KY (1840), and Louisville @
48 yrs (1850). I think his wife in 1850 is named Martie, kids are Nancy A.
19 & John 11, both born in KY.
"Morgan" does not appear on the 1860, but I think he was the same man
whose widow "Patsy" appears in 1860 w/sons John 18 & Morgan 10 in
Jeffersonville, Clark County, IN. A couple pages away in 1860 is a Wyatt
Harbin who I think was also a son & had been in Jeffersonville 10 years
earlier. He had a son Morgan, too.
Now for my problem: John was appt Admin of the estate of HAMILTON Harbin,
late of
Clark County, in Court of Common Pleas on 1/9/1861. I have tried to
track this case to a settlement but have not been able to. My question is:
Is "Morgan" in 1830 through 1850 the same person as "Hamilton" who
died
c1860? And is "Martie" in 1850 the same as "Patsy" in 1860 -
possibly
Martha = Patsy?
Are there any records that would help check this out? I would appreciate
any
ideas, suggestions, etc. He has been a real problem for several years.
He says he was born in TN & I've decided he was following the National Road
but have been unable to track him back to where he started so he has me
frustrated at both ends!
