I have Kelly/Kelley's that married into the Louden family in Clark County. Mary, do
you have any Louden's?

Ms. Pierce,
I saw in the list of family names you are researching below that the
Patterson family (families) is one of them. Since I also have
Patterson family connections both in Clark and Johnson Counties, I
wonder if we share some of the same family. I have done some
research on my Patterson connections and would be glad to share what
information I have if you could provide some of the names and
approximate dates that your family members lived in Clark County.
I don't have any information about the other families that you list.

Hi, I too am disappointed that this site has been so inactive. I am told that
the Facebook website has taken its place. Problem is I do not find it very
helpful and have not figured out how to research past postings. This website
made that so easy! So, maybe if we just start using this site again, we can
rejuvenate it!
My Applegates, Redmans, Morrises, and O'Connors came to Clark County, Indiana in
the early 1800's and some even earlier. Many descendants are still in the area
while others moved to Orange County, In and then north and west.

Kathleen, I am trying to help someone do some Clark County, Indiana
research.
There are very little resorces for Clark. Not much at library.
The newspapers aren't really early and they aren't even indexed.
They don't have marriage records like Floyd County does.

Clark County is difficult to research. I suggest that you try
Ancestry.com or
the state library. I doubt that Facebook is the problem. Clark County was
difficult before Facebook came along.

This is for Sue Carpenter: I don?t know where you are researching in Clark Cty,
Sue; but if it?s near or in Jeffersonville, know that the genealogy staff at the
library there are very knowledgeable and helpful. Also, the court records are
readily available. At least they were a few years ago; I was able to not only
read but copy my ggrandfather?s will there. Good luck.
Cheers,
Jude
