Jeffersonville, Indiana, May 29-Patrolman Peter Madden, who shot and

illiam Kendrick, colored, formerly of Indianapolis, after being cut
by him,
as been acquitted by Justice Ware. The acquittal is generally
approved by
he whites while the colored people are dissatisfied.
