The Place We Call Home: A History of Clark County, Indiana. With the Kramers
as our guides, we will delve into the county that, as they put it, "has
grown from a handful of small settlements and scattered farms at the Falls
of the Ohio into a sprawling metropolitan region." According to Carl, a prof
at IU-Southeast (he directs its Institute for Local and Oral History),
farmers and middle-class business owners still serve as leaders of the
county.
