Linda, the library and courthouse in Jeffersonville are excellent
repositories of documents and information. And the staff are wonderful,
especially those at the library. Just ask for the genealogy section--there
is usually someone there to help you. I learned so much from being there.
Also, the Health Department has vital records--I was able to look through
the original ledgers damaged by the 1937 flood. A great experience all
round. And Jeffersonville is small enough that it is very easy to get from
one building to another.
Cheers,
Judy

Subject: Tips for research in Clark County?
I'm planning to spend a Friday in February in Clark County doing
genealogy research, and wonder if anyone has any tips for how and where
to best spend my time. I'm looking for Clark ancestors who were in the
county in the early 1800s.
Any tips would be appreciated I've found that genealogists who have
already been there, or who live there, usually have wonderful ideas that
can save visitors a lot of time.
Thanks,
