Green Carlisle born 1825 in Jackson Co., GA. Moved to DeKalb Co. GA.
outside of Atlanta, began a family, moved back to Jackson Co., GA.
but enlisted in a CSA unit from Atlanta, Fulton Co., GA. Was
captured in VA during the civil war. Took the USA oath and was sent
to an Artillery fort in Maryland. I have all this information.
However, leaving a family in Georgia, I next find him in Clark Co.,
Indiana in 1870 and 1880 with a NEW wife Rebecca Born 1845 in IN. and
children Lilly born 1865, Alexander born 1867, Rosella born 1871 and
Maggie born 1877. I again get a reference on Alexander in 1910 in
the same place and in 1930 Alexander is still in Clark Co., Married
to Dora C. One community reference was "Owen".
Since I am writing a history of the Carlisles that arrived in Jackson
Co., GA. in 1795 and find this deviation to the regular story I was
hoping one might shed some light on this family. Is there anywhere I
can find marriages, etc on the girls and on Alexander to see if he
still has relatives in Clark Co?
