Hello Folks:
I was wondering if there is anyone out there who might be researching these
people or be able to direct me to where I could get more information:
1) John GOODMAN, listed in the 1820, 1840 and 1850 Charlestown census
reports. How can I find out his family? Are there city directories?
Cemetery books?
2) PERDUE, Benjamin W. and Catharine; 1860, 1870 census: Charlestown
Township, Clark Co Indiana(our relative is living with them from at least age
11-age 21)
3) 1860: DUNN, Andrew 39 and Hannah 42 and GOODMAN, John P. 10 KY
4)1860: GOODMAN, Jane 24, Mary J. 5 , Alonzo 4, Nancy 2.
5) 1871: Clark County Indiana Marriage Records: Emma Johnson m. William J
Goodman
Marriage Date: 04 Oct 1871 Book: J OSPage: 246(would parents be listed?)
She is listed in the 1870 census one door down from William Goodman--she is
"working in the house." A few doors down from that house is a Julia Johnson
listed as "working in the house."
Does anyone know or have a guess as to why young folks unrelated would be
"working in the house" or "farm labor" in the mid nienteenth-century
in
Charlestown?
Thank you very much.
Sue
