Hi Debbie,
I have no knowledge of the churches of Sellersburg,
however 'Steinhage' sounds like German to me or at least that area of Europe
that was once part of Germany. That would take you to a Lutheran Church, or
one of it's many spin-offs, the most promising being the Methodists. Hope
this helps.
Don

Subject: Sellersburg question AGAIN :-(
I had such great replies and suggestions on my last post, I thought
I'd try
this again :-)
My original questions referred to what Catholic Church(es) were in
Sellersburg in 1890. Most of the replies stated my best bet was St.
Joseph, and thank you for that help. I contacted St. Joseph and was told
that the marriage did not take place there. So, now I'm wondering if by
chance it was NOT in a Catholic church. The marriage certificate states
that they were married at Sellersburg in the County of Clark, IN, before
the Congregation in Church, signed Ph. Steinhage, Pastor. The license
from Jefferson Co. KY and the marriage certificate are together? Does
anyone happen to know what other churches were in Sellerburg in 1890? Or
if anyone is familiar with the Pastor named Steinhage?
Thank You!
Debbie
