Does anyone have any info on what we presume to be the ADAMS (?) Cemetery,
in Utica Township, Clark Co., IN? [Not to be confused with the Adams
Cemetery in Washington Twp., Clark Co., IN.]
We've just learned of this site, which is confirmed by a deed from William
Adams and Eliza E. Adams (his wife) in 1890 to the Trustees of New Chapel
Methodist Church.
William Adams (1836-1917) and his wife Eliza (1892-1903) are buried at the
cemetery at New Chapel Church. This particular site is several miles from
the church in Section 6, near Section 13, literally just feet inside the
Utica Twp. line, near Jeffersonville. It is on undeveloped land between
Middle Road and Utica Pike, near the Clark Maritime Center. Many years ago,
this property was known as the "Old Adams Place".
What information I have at present is on-line at:

I am advised that the site is completely overgrown with blackberry briars
and that there are no visible stones. My source indicates that there were
no stones apparent even many years ago.
I have arranged a visit to this site, hopefully this coming weekend
(Saturday, 01/08/2000), depending on the weather. We hope to be able to
probe the site to see if any stones can be found.
If you have any information about this site or the burials there, I would be
very interested in hearing from you.
