"Pigeon Roost Massacre was 3 or 4 Sep 1811, in the spring of 1813 a party of
Indians attacked about nine miles north of Charlestown. Evidently there were
other attacks as companies of men were stationed at various points. This
continued until the restoration of peace between this country and England."
This was taken from "The Ohio Falls Cities and their Counties" pub. 1882,
but reproduced by Unigraphic Inc. in Evansville in 1966. This is Vol. 11

Anyone on the list have any information about the afore mentioned Indian
attack? Is there a list of people who were killed at this massacre? I would
be interested to know if there was an Isaac Howard killed there.

Can anyone do a marriage lookup for Indiana in general? Sent off for a
marriage certificate from Clark Co. on Oscar SMITH and Elizabeth BERNHART and
they searched from 1924 to 1928 but couldn't find them. Don't know where
else they may have been but know they were married before Feb. 1926 when
their first child was born. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks alot!

Karen,
You can find Crown Hill Cemetery off Hwy 62 south of New Washington,
Indiana, you take 62 out of Jeffersonville. The cemetery is south of town
on Poplar St. As you face the cemetery you will see a strorage shed on the
back road of the cemetery their stone will be in the middle of that section
to the right of the building. Their stone in section CC lot 28 is in the
first row facing the road you don't even need to leave your car. A map of
the cemetery is at the library there just a block from the cemetery and at
the office located at the lumberyard behind the cemetery. I have dates if
you need them.
I submittted the Crown Hill information, my family are the Cole's above and
to the right of their plots. Any other info please contact me.

Responding to your Clark County, Indiana entry.
My ggrandparents immigrated then settled in Clark Co in 1860's. We have 100 or
more Bower names in tree; 1 Robinette. No Eliza Bower listed; time period her
birth corresponds to Bower being present.
Glenn Bower lives in Clark County and may be helpful. Do you have any more
details you will share? Have you located a cemetary for Eliza and/or her spouse?
Do you have location of Eliza's parents in NC?
Looking forward to your reply. Where are you located? We are in Indianapolis.

Thanks very much. It certainly would be helpful if I could find someone that
was familiar with this cemetery and could tell me where the gravesites are
located.
Karen
I will be in Indiana between 5/21 and 5/24 (coming from Florida).
I need directions to the Crown Hill Cemetery. I am trying to locate the
tombstones of Abram Hollenbeck and his wife.
Can anyone help me?
Karen
I am wondering if there is anyone local in Clark Co. that would be kind
enough to take a photo of a tombstone for me?
I am looking for Abram R. Hollenbeck and his wife Amelia C. I located them
on the Clark Co. Genweb site. Not sure what "CC" means on the index to
burials, that that is what he is listed under.
If I can return a favor, I can offer to lookups on IN census records.
Karen
am wondering if anyone may be familiar with this family that could help me
locate the parents of Eliza Jane Bower(s) b. Jan 22, 1818 in Indiana.
She married Lorenzo Dow Robinett on June 26, 1842 in Clark Co., IN.
Census records indicate her parents were born in North Carolina.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Karen
